Saudi defense systems intercepted six ballistic missiles in the latest barrage, according to Kingdom authorities.

The attacks have disrupted oil flows from the world’s largest energy exporter and represent a dangerous expansion of Middle East hostilities that erupted after US and Israeli military operations against Iran in February.

At the heart of Pakistan’s involvement lies the Makkah Joint Defence Agreement, signed by Islamabad, Riyadh, and Ankara in August. The pact operates on a principle similar to NATO’s collective defense clause: an assault on any member constitutes an attack on all signatories.

According to the Saudi foreign ministry, the three military chiefs will explore concrete measures to support the Kingdom’s defense under this framework. The foreign ministers condemned strikes targeting Makkah and civilian areas while affirming Saudi Arabia’s right to self-defense.

Turkish Chief of General Staff General Selcuk Bayraktaroglu will travel to Saudi Arabia for the commanders’ meeting, Turkey’s defense ministry confirmed. Pakistan’s military leadership is expected to participate at the highest level, though specific details remain undisclosed.

The alliance’s scope may extend far beyond its current membership. Turkish Parliament Speaker Numan Kurtulmus suggested the pact could evolve into a comprehensive security framework for the Muslim world, potentially including Iran despite Tehran’s backing of the Houthi forces.

“We never see the Makkah Agreement as a pact against Iran,” Kurtulmus told reporters in Ankara. “We hope it can turn into a broader agreement for the Muslim world. Iran can join this agreement too.”

The accord requires parliamentary ratification in all three countries before becoming fully operational. Turkey’s parliament is expected to consider the agreement when it reconvenes in October. Current military cooperation discussions are described as preparatory in nature.

Turkish officials indicated Ankara could provide technical military assistance to Saudi Arabia on a bilateral basis even before formal ratification, drawing on the spirit of their alliance.

Saudi Arabia’s Grand Mufti Sheikh Saleh bin Fawzan Al-Fawzan called on Saudi and allied forces to maintain unity while confronting the Houthi threat, describing the group as a danger to the Kingdom’s peace and stability. He urged troops to exercise patience and steadfastness in their defensive mission.

The three nations also reaffirmed their commitment to pursuing sustainable peace and stability across the region, supporting de-escalation efforts and peaceful resolution of ongoing crises, according to the Saudi foreign ministry.

Progress on establishing the agreement’s institutional structures, including a general secretariat, committees, and working groups, was reviewed during the New York consultations. These mechanisms will coordinate joint defense planning and response capabilities among the member states.

Pakistan’s military leadership is preparing for an urgent trilateral meeting with counterparts from Saudi Arabia and Turkey as escalating Houthi attacks on the Kingdom trigger the first major test of a newly formed Muslim defense

[8
3,9,4
post-311","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","category-pakistan","tag-ai-consensus","tag-geo-news","tag-journalist-ai
https://goodforfree.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/09/pakistan-joins-saudi-turkey-military-alliance-as-houthi-strikes-threaten-regional-stability.png
["GET
